Material & Finishing
Details about our materials and finishing options.
What materials do you use for your signs?
We use durable and high-quality materials, including:
- Vinyl: Flexible and weather-resistant, ideal for stickers and labels.
- Corflute 5mm: Lightweight and perfect for temporary signage, such as construction sites.
- Foamboard 5mm: Lightweight and suitable for indoor displays.
- Polypropylene: UV-stable and durable, recommended for outdoor use.
- Aluminium Composite Material (ACM): Sturdy and weather-resistant, ideal for long-term outdoor use.
- Metal: Robust and corrosion-resistant, suitable for industrial environments.
What’s the difference between Class 1 and Class 2 reflective finishes?
- Class 1 Reflective (High Intensity): Known for its honeycomb pattern, Class 1 reflective material provides the highest grade of reflectivity. It is ideal for high-visibility signage and applications where maximum reflectivity is needed, such as road signs and vehicle markings.
- Class 2 Reflective (Engineer Grade): This material offers reliable retroreflectivity and is suitable for non-critical signage applications. Class 2 reflective finishes are commonly used for general safety signs where intense reflectivity is not required.
Which reflective material should I choose?
Choose Class 1 if your sign needs to be highly visible day and night, such as road signs, traffic signs, and vehicle graphics.
Choose Class 2 for non-critical signs in car parks, warehouses, and loading docks where extreme reflectivity is not required.
What’s the difference between eyelets and drill holes?
- Eyelets: Plastic rings in the corners for mounting with nails, screws, or cable ties. Available on Corflute & Foamboard signs only.
- Drill Holes: Pre-drilled holes in the corners for easy installation. Available on all material types.
What sizes do your signs come in?
Our standard sizes include 110mm x 150mm, 150mmx225mm, 225mm x 300mm, 300mm x 450mm, 450mm x 600mm, and 600mm x 900mm.
Custom sizes are also available upon request.
Are your signs suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, all our signs are designed to withstand outdoor conditions. They are UV-resistant and laminated for durability, ensuring a long-lasting lifespan even in harsh environments.
How long do signs last?
It all depends on UV exposure. However, our new generation material and advanced printing technology provide a longer life expectancy than other lower-grade materials on the market. If the signs are always outdoors and exposed to UV, the life expectancy has increased from around 12 months to over 24 months. If they are indoors, they will last for years!
What height/size should safety signs be?
The size of safety signs depends on their viewing distance and purpose. For example:
- Signs viewed from up to 7 metres away should measure at least 300mm x 400mm.
- For longer distances (e.g., up to 15 metres), larger signs such as 600mm x 900mm are recommended.
Compliance with AS 1319 ensures that signs are appropriately sized for visibility and effectiveness. For more details, see Material & Size Quide
What is a Protective Overlaminate?
A Protective Overlaminate is a clear UV-resistant and weatherproof PVC gloss film that helps extend the life of your signs by up to 3 years. It protects against fading, scratches, moisture, and other environmental damage.
Do I need overlaminate for my sign?
If your sign will be exposed to direct sunlight, rain, or harsh weather conditions, overlaminate is recommended. It doubles the lifespan of outdoor signs and keeps indoor signs looking new for years.
What is Anti-Graffiti Laminate?
Anti-Graffiti Laminate is a protective coating that makes it easy to remove spray paint, markers, and stickers without damaging your sign.
It is ideal for public spaces, schools, car parks, restrooms, and high-traffic areas where vandalism is a concern.
